Maximize Your Mind

Week 2 has Jodi Flanagan returning to Maximize Your Mind. Jodi will be leading a season on goal setting, so together we can set our sights on the PEAK

Jodi is the Vector Life Coaching guru and a two-time Special Olympics Team Alberta Chef de Mission. As a life coach, Jodi guides individuals through a creative thought-provoking process to inspire them to reach their maximum potential or reach their PEAK if you would. Jodi has been a passionate supporter of Special Olympics for over 30 years, and she continues to stay involved through her roles in coach development and PEAK.

Elevate with Exercise

Leading week 2 of Elevate with Exercise, SO Alberta's very own Celeste Soete will be guiding us through a session on balance.

Celeste got started with Special Olympics through motionball Marathon of Sport, as the Director of Volunteers in the inaugural year of the event in 2017. Since then Celeste has taken on coaching role in both the floor hockey and strength training programs, and is the head coach for the recreational golf program. She has recently joined the team at Special Olympics Alberta as the new the Fund Development Coordinator. In her free time Celeste enjoys hanging out with her cats Maurice and Seymour or searching for the best sandwich in town and her favorite ways to stay active are walking, swimming and lifting weights at the gym. The values of Special Olympics resonated with Celeste immediately, after meeting the athletes and volunteers involved in the organization she was sold on the mission, she explained that "when you interact with people involved in Special Olympics you immediately feel the positive energy and spirit of inclusion". She describes herself as a "lifer" when it comes to being involved with the organization.

Social Club

Social Club returned last week and it was a BLAST to say the least. Join us for our next session on October 12th!

Social Club will take place every Tuesday from 5-6 PM MT and any SO athletes can take part by registering.

PEAK Eats with Erin Smandych: Accessible Eating

This week we have a new PEAK facilitator joining us to help us on our journey to healthy eating. Erin will be leading a session on healthy eating habits and answering your questions on Wednesday October 13th at 6:00 PM.

Erin Smandych is a mindset coach, health educator, and private chef for high performance individuals. She is passionate about helping individuals create a strong foundation of health that makes sense for their unique needs using a blend of nutrition science and behavioural psychology.
