Workout Wednesdays will focus on flexibility and balance. Flexibility and balance are important for our daily life and is closely tied to the execution of skill and technique in sport. Flexibility and balance helps increases power and force through learning to use one’s center of gravity more effectively, and can help reduce injuries from falls.

Marie has been a coach with Special Olympics for 11 years. Her current passions include Athletics, which she has been coaching for 6 years, and Snowshoeing, which she has been involved in for 9 year and is the Head Coach for the Calgary Affiliate Snowshoe program. Her coaching experience also includes Soccer, Active Start/Fundamentals and Running Club. She has served on Team Alberta as a Head Coach for Snowshoeing and Athletics, and as an Associate Coach for Snowshoeing. Marie also had the honor of going to Abu Dhabi with Team Canada as an Associate Coach for Athletics in our most recent World Games. She is extremely grateful to be part of the Special Olympics family, and very proud to be part of the PEAK program. When Marie is not coaching, She treasures time with her family, including going for long walks, or just chatting on the porch while drinking lattes. Marie loves the outdoors, and the energy that nature provides, as well as staying healthy through exercise, including running and yoga.
